Incredible Jacque and Larry! I would think indoor would be a lot more logical! We have had pools in both the homes we've lived in here in the Sacramento area and have still had to put solar pool heating on them as a way to extend the time we can use it both in the spring and the fall. Otherwise the water is still pretty cool even with our hot summer days to heat it!

Thank you DeeDee, it is kind of a show and tell home around here. We rarely get the opportunity for anything with pools. Solar panels, not so much either (not sure if it is the snow or simply the darkness factor part of the year). There is a small percentage of homes that are off the grid (green) but most are not in the solar panel, wind generation or the like. It would be great to have more of it here!

Thank you Joan, we do have other nice homes in varying degrees of upgrades but this is our first ever pool house. Not like there is much opportunity in ALASKA but now we can check that off our list.

What is an endless pool? Never heard of that before. I would never have guessed that there were pools in Alaska. Nice house and a killer price!

Thank you Cynthia, an endless pool is a smaller pool (like a stretched out hot tub) that can be built in or set onto of the floor (also like a hot tub). They take up less room but have a motor and jets that you can set to swim against. It is like running in place but for swimming. Here is a link to one version of the endless pools.

I was born here, Larry was imported (our little joke) from Montana 20 years ago and we are still fascinated with the pools in Alaska. The outdoor one still gets me though. No house around it, just in the back yard in concrete as if it was Florida. All I have to say is that I have had my fun swimming in the lakes here-BRRRRRR!

Wow ... I just checked out the endless pool, I've never seen or heard of these before. Here in CA we run across lap pools every once in awhile, they are long and narrow. So this is kind of like a treadmill for swimmers. Good luck in selling the house ... that would fetch a pretty penny in CA.

Good morning Jill, they are so hard to come by here that they fascinate people.

In the winter we have outdoor activities like downhill and cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, sledding etc but if you cannot tolerate the cold (or have bad knees from doing the above exercises) swimming is a great option.

Unfortunately, the swimming pools we have are limited use for the public. You have to pay a huge penny for the one fitness club that has a pool or go to the pool at Wasilla High School (or drive 15 miles to Palmer High School).

It is one of those features that many people would love to have but it is not cost effective to build. Most would prefer a garage to tuck their vehicle's in so they do not have to shovel snow off them.

This one was left out of the garage last night. Someone did not think it would snow...

Larry and Jacque--I have seen a few homes with indoor pools here in Indiana, but the house you have listed is the first that has ever made me wish I could have one. I would think the enclosed pool itself would be at least $100,000---this price seems like a bargain. I am positive I would exercise if I had this pool---don't think I can relocate to Alaska though---family all here. Bet this sells quickly!!

Good evening Pat, my pops side of the family is from Indiana-the Henley clan. My favorite cousins just moved up from Elkhart County (LaGrange and Howe area) and both found good jobs right away. We can always use some more responsible, responsive and hard working licensees too!

I have family in Kendalville, a retired broker uncle (another doll) Keith 'Ed' Henley from Colombia City and tucked all over down there.

The cousins are the first to venture out this far north though but they LOVE it. If you ever need info on visiting just let us know. We can let you in on all kinds of local information. I think today we are up to 9 hours 27 minutes of daylight and gaining close to 5 1/2 minutes of daylight a day. YEAH!

We would exercise more too if we had the pool but I think we would see more of my mum and sisters too. Mum already picked her room (the pool) should one of us decide to buy it. Dad, is not so sure (he needs more garage space for his toys).
