Political, Kentucky Governor

Ladies and Gentlemen of Kentucky,

We are about six weeks away from one of the most important elections for Governor that Kentucky has faced in its history.  I know this sounds canned, but if you are a Kentucky voter, please consider my view of this election.

We have four good men running to serve our state.  They are all decent men with good reputations and each would represent our state well.  This is a most wonderful truth that I feel for the first time in many elections at every governmental level.

What we are doing in effect is electing these candidates to serve as employees of the business of running Kentucky's government.  Before, you are two issues, one is legalized gambling, the other is would you rehire this man based on the job he has done managing our government.

Steve Brashear is a well-meaning man but with a dubious record.  I believe he is a man of faith, but is he a man more interested in dollars and human power than heavenly power?  As Kentucky's Attorney General, he was involved in the removal of the Ten Commandments from our schools and it doesn't take the hypocritical Courier-Journal to realize that Jefferson County Public Schools are in deep water. That each school must have an armed police officer on duty, (they call him a resource officer).   Is it coincidental that with the removal of the Ten Commandments, the increase in school bullying and violence has skyrocketed?

Did Governor Fletcher commit a crime, or did he take a bullet for his staff?   We all know the previous administrations (all Democratic) had their share of individuals who did far worse.   I don't know, but if you were the boss of a firm and one of your employees was ticketed for speeding, would you fire that employee?   The facts are that Governor Fletcher, if he did commitment a crime, did nothing more than a misdemeanor which is the same as a speeding ticket, which the Democratic Attorney General spent well over two million dollars to prosecute.

We have choices this November.  I hope you will vote with intelligence not inuendo and spin.

If someone can show me genuine reason other than politically motivated charges by a want-to-be governor Attorney General why Ernie Fletcher should be fired, I am willing to listen, but only if the person showing me is equally open to considering my views too.

I believe he is a man of faith

this has nothing to do with politics

Kentucky doesn't need the Ten Commandments in schools to solve its issues

there are plenty of great parochial schools for those that need more religion

Kentucky needs better restriction on home schooling - like some sort of certification for parents - it is far too easy

and Kentucky has passed up far too many GREAT candidates for someone from the old boy network

why elect someone who's already involved in the mess??

get someone fresh and maybe someone that is a CPA...maybe someone who went to college??(Wilkinson)...

and someone who will work to get the corruption in the state out!! There are too many state agencies running old boy networks instead of bettering the state!

Remember when you elected the "best man for the job" instead of the "lesser of two evils"?

Shame, but that's pretty much what it comes to nowadays when electing politicians.

They've both got dirt on their coat tails.

It'll be interesting.  That's for sure!
