I recently called a For Sale by Owner and told him " I can't understand whats wrong - I am selling my house and no one wants to buy it "
The FSBO asked me - " How much are you asking ? "
I told him " $10 "
He said - " Your selling your house for $10 and no one wants to buy it - that's crazy! "
I said " Yes, maybe because I haven't told anyone. "
The moral of this story is not what I'm asking for my house but rather if I keep it a secret - who is going to buy it ?
How many Sellers will put up a sign in front then get mad because they haven't sold it - is it because they are keeping it a secret ? Putting it on MLS just isn't going to work anymore in this market - you have to advertise, advertise & promote your property on as many Real Estate websites as possible.
Even go beyond that and get Realtors from all over the world to put your listings on their MLS.
( did you know that you can legally do this ? )
So the next time you talk to a FSBO - ask them " Is your house a secret ? "
