Wow. I never realized how damaging this could be. Thanks for the information on this issue.
Jody, I know that sometimes too many air freshners in a home is definitely covering up something from pet urine or cigarette smoke, etc. but I have to be honest that I never realized there were pet odor specialists until I just read your post. So what do you suggest to get rid of pet urine? I have two dogs and sometimes my lil one urinates in the house. I read somewhere to use rubbing alcohol to absorb the urine and the stain on the carpet.
That was very deceitful of the sellers. It's a shame the buyers now have to contend with this.
I suggest getting having a professional carpet cleaner come out and look at the carpets using a uv black light to find the spots before any carpet cleaning is done. The extraction method is the best method because it creates a rinsing action from the spraying and suction. This dilutes the amount of urine in the carpet and and allows the deodorizers to have a better chance on minimizing the odor.
If this a ongoing problem I would recommend buying your own black light and a wet & dry shop vac this will save you on service calls. Mix any enzyme product of your choice and 1 part to 4 parts warm water pour onto the soiled area then extract with shop vac repeat this step until the smell is gone.
I can't count the homes I've seen over the years that I knew could sell for thousands upon thousands more than they were asking if they would just hire a company like yours. Most can't get past the smell and never actually see the home.
