Leading the way in real estate is a thought that I wake up with in the morning. This is not to say I am leading the way, but I want to. I want to be aware of what people are doing that is working so that I can emulate it. I don’t need to reinvent the wheel I need to look at all the wheels that are rolling well and gathering speed and be like them. There are so many great examples out there of people doing it right. I find humor in the pundits putting the other pundits down, although I do find wisdom in the pundits who think other pundits who have not actually been on the front line of real estate are not as credible as those who have. MA real estate is a full contact sport as it was in TX.
There are people in my office who are disciples of Mike Ferry, Brian Buffini, David Knox, Walter Sanford, and great thinkers like Bob Proctor and Napoleon Hill. There are newer breeds of pundits as well…it is hard to swing a dead cat without someone saying they know more than the rest. Real estate is simple, but it is far from easy. The discipline that is needed on a daily basis to succeed can be daunting for those who come into the business hoping for a quick buck. There are no quick bucks in real estate.
Another aspect absolutely necessary for success these days is technology. Those agents thinking they can work their sphere in the old way, may keep a client or two, but will loose any hope of competing with people who have moved their content and communications through the web and down into the cell phone. QR codes, Facebook, Twitter and more are integral parts of the system. There is a lot to think about when you want to lead the way, but when you wake up the first thing to do is pay attention to those already doing it and see what you can copy and perfect for your own sphere of interest. Good luck to you today and make it a great day no matter what you are working on.
