The Watertown CT, Town's Management is trying to recover lost revenue, and give the golfers that do support the course a break. Golf is down across the country and the dollars for golfers is very competitive. Maybe there will be additional special value coupons this summer as well.

Traditionally the course shoots for an opening around mid-March. The amount of snow and water on the course will dictate when that happens. The photo below was taken around noon today, so Mid-March looks highly optomistic with 2 feet of snow covering the course. The first tee is somewhere out there.

Crestbrook Park Golf Course in Watertown CT is a special jewel for the resident's of Watertown CT and their park and recreation system.

Ed can you imagine a diehard golfer getting out on a golf course right now?  White ball on white course, that would make a story :) :) :)

Cheryl, right now I would be happy just to see the grass, regardless of the color

George, would that be anything like hitting golf balls at the driving range here in Prospect with all that snow aout there. No yardage just contact. And I can't even imagine how difficult to go out and collect them after.

Ellie, we hit 60 today, I'm sure it's just a tease

Deb, a leeeeetle bit is just about right.

Hi Ed - It looks like right now would be the time to hit the course!  Think of how peaceful it would be, and it would be easy to get a hole in one with that many holes in the snow.  Good luck finding the ball however!

Chris, the driving range here in Prospectis open, and gas been open most of the winter. They have a few heated, protected bays. I an't even imagine how they get out there to try and find the balls with the mess of snow we've had this winter.

Hey Dagny, I never claimed to be good at the game, just liking it. No my wife doesn't play and has very little desire to learn. And I don't think it would be wise to let my wife know that I'm playing a round with you. Shhh discretion.

I know you're just itching to get out on the links again Ed. Hopefully that 60 degree day was a sign that winter is over and golf season is upon us.

Bill it's been a brutal stretch so far. Hopefully it ends soon.

Hey guys, yes I'm itchy, and I'm thinking road trip in early March, a couple of days on the DelMarVa strip. Ocean City Md is like a mini myrtle beach and half the drive.

Craig, they are calling for some type of mess for Sunday night, so it's not over yet.

There's something almost sacrilegious about cross-country skiing on a golf course.  In fact, it was the thing that made my son decide NOT to accept a golf scholarship at Penn State...  he just couldn't get over the fact that folks were skiing on the golf course, and he headed to Florida where he could golf in the winter.  LOL.
