The Budget has landed....The comments take off...

Yesterday, Governor Rick Snyder presented his 2012 Michigan Budget.
A budget which does touch most of us;
A budget which touches some of us in unexpected ways [but not necessarily unfair ways];
A budget which had it's leaks, some correct & some way off base;
A budget that all knew was coming; all know that is necessary; & some readied their comments prior to release.

Budgets in general are Nasty Things.
Who out there really wants to sit down and put into writing just exactly how much money they don't have to spend on things they want [& often don't need]

Parents discover this when first they sit down with the grade school child & work through the situation of ---
"I don't have enough allowance" & correctly point out that the amount of the allowance isn't always the problem;
it is often the amount of the "desires".

When these same parents do sit down to establish 'realities' for their family's expenses, the sad call often heard is
"We run out of money before we run out of month"

AND then the rearranging of needs, wants, credits, debits, & savings take place.;

Altogether  not a happy place.
Not a happy time.

The same goes with the  municipality, city, township & or state  that has to do the same.

You will end up with many unhappy campers?

Today's Detroit News presents a clear & concise listing for all to read; which is then followed by articles that explain in full.

The "Blue-shaded" area not attributed to any individual author states:

....WINNERS:
BIG BUSINESS....SMALKL BUSINESS...MEDICADE RECIPIENTS....COMMUNITY COLLEGES...WELFARE  RECEIPIENTS

...LOSERS:
INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYERS...HONEOWNERS....PENSIONERS....UNIVERSITIES...FILMSTUDIOS...STATE POLICE...
K-12 SCHOOLS...PRISONS...STATE WORKERS...CITIES / COUNTIES

The Caps above are from the section on 1 A www.detnews.com  /Friday, February 18, 2011

If interested you can locate the articles on the web site.
The paper presents a statement under each category listed in the Blue-shaded area.

There are various 'groups' who are 'crying foul' . [You can locate this story if interested.]
Some are out protesting or 'walking against';
Other stories cover the fact that Businesses , big & small will be affected and should spur real growth.

Over the next weeks, this Legislature will dissect, discuss, demonstrate a willingness to get Job Making steps going, and eventually deciding upon the Final Budget to move toward 'signing into Law there of'.

We personally will be impacted by some of these areas;
We don't like att we see--but do see that-at this date- what we see does cross both public & private sectors;
We, as are all in the Private sector, ARE in the Private Sector by choice & design;

We are hoping that the Organizing for America Groups in Michigan [62 offices] do not try to WISCONSIN  Michigan.

Time will tell;
Time will go on;
That is the Nature of Time after all.

Unfortunately, state like indivuals get used certain things and they are then viewed as necessary.  There is so much was in government budgets...but when did vacations become a necessity?

Laura...so far the basic groups complaining are in the Unions & AARP; both these groups are national, so an attack on or calls against a state comes across as more political [small 'p'] than supportive of individual state citizens.
Don't know about vacations for any as a 'right'. Time will tell here & in other states involved in similar situations.
Thanks for coming across to comment. Have a great weekend.
it appears that we are having a "furnace Moment" right now. UGH
