Sunday Drive - Oxford County, Ontario

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Real Estate Centre Inc., Brokerage

It's been three weeks since we moved to Tavistock in Oxford County. We are fairly well settled in and it was a relatively balmy - 1 degrees C. so I figured it was a great day for a Sunday drive.  I checked out a few places that I wanted to visit, put my dog Lola in the back seat and hit the road.

Our first stop was at the  Embro Pond Conservation Trail.  Unfortunately the snow was still pretty deep and I'd go a few steps before I would end up knee deep with one leg.  It was also pretty noisy as for some reason there was machinery  taking down trees.  I'm not sure what that is all about but will go back soon when the snow melts a bit more.

Our next stop was to the  One-Of-A-Kind Antique Mall in Woodstock, Ontario.  Two floors of a very old building jam packed with furniture, glassware, jewelry, memorabilia and everything else including the kitchen sink.  There is no way you could take it all in in one visit.

Our final destination was to Roth Park on the South side of Pittock Lake in Woodstock.  This will be a great spot to explore more when the better weather comes.  Today the trail was quite icy so we didn't venture too far.

Lola and I both enjoyed our walks and the fresh air.  I'm looking forward to venturing out soon to do some more exploring in my new area.

Hi Jenny - I admire your definition of balmy! Love the photos though, so I'm glad you ventured out.  Interesting patterns on the cut edge of the logs.  One reminds me of a sand dollar.

Jenny, it could have been a nice nature walk, except for the depth of nature that kept you from walking. Nice photos, and that lasy one of the stacked logs certainly has some interesting natural patterns to them. Thanks for sharing

Tony & Darcy, thanks that wood was interesting looking.  Hate to see the trees coming down thought but must have been a good reason, I hope.

Hi Susan, I agree about the sand dollar.  Yes balmy may have been a stretch.  I'm going to Las Vegas tomorrow to find some true balmy weather lol

Anna Banana, Yes it will be 4 weeks tomorrow since the move.  We are about an hour and a half west of Toronto now.  I will have lots of new experiences to write about.

Thanks Steve, it has been busy with all the changes but we are settling in.  Lola likes it here.  Although when the snow melts all we will have is mud in the yard til we get sod later this spring.
