A local church was badly in need of a coat of paint, but the congregation was poor.
So the pastor decided he'd do the painting himself. But all he had was one bucket of paint.
He solved the problem by gathering a bunch of buckets and some water, and he thinned the paint enough to cover the entire church.
Then he spent all day painting. That night it rained in fact it poured.
It was still raining the next morning when the pastor went to the church and discovered the white puddles surrounding the church. All the paint had washed away!
He was quite discouraged. He looked up and asked, "God, why did you let it rain and wash off all my hard work?"
And with a clap of thunder God replied, "Repaint! Repaint! And thin no more!"
