Garden coming!!!

Punx told us that spring would be less than 6 weeks away. That was 2 weeks ago. Here in Idaho we have had a few inklings of good weather, but today it is snowing around my house. A bit over freezing though, and that is good.

In a few weeks, guys like me, will be out getting ready to set up a garden. Laying out the borders, tilling in some compost from my compost bin, and starting my indoor seedlings. Good things are on the way.

This year I am going to try some brussel sprouts in my outdoor garden and an artichoke in my greenhouse. I have never tried either. I am not sure that our weather here will work for the sprouts. Too dry possbily. As far as the artichoke, they take a long time to grow properly and may not work in a hothouse.

Any ideas?

I think it is a little Early for NJ to get the garden going... More snow coming!  I had great luck with my garden last year, I built raised beds in an intricate pattern .... I may not do seeds this year, they took to long to produce anything. I just need to figure out how to get rid of an underground mole or vole that was causing problems last year!

Robert- Voles are a problem here too. My dogs are pretty dogs and catching them though.

A bit more snow to come here too. Our frost free date is not until May 18th.

I forget where we got the seeds, I think they were burpee?  We didnt plant the seeds (indoors) until Easter last year, maybe that was a little too late?

I probably got my seeds at Home Depot... I also got some seedlings from them and they worked out great for both Peppers and tomatos....

The peppers I grew from seed did not produce until VERY late season.
