By

Who said home buying was only for the middle-agers, married with children? Young, single (or both) - you too can partake in the American dream of home ownership! The real estate market has noticed a boom in the number of young adults purchasing homes, and the amount will continue to increase. Below I will equip you all in the 30 and under crowd with some valuable tips & information I gathered from www.realtor.com and www.NYtimes.com, that'll make accomplishing your goal of buying a home a reality.

1) Establish good credit habits & history - Pay all of your bills on time! Know what your credit score is, and what is on your credit report.

2) Start saving up for a down payment and closing costs. - Costs don't just begin/stop with the mortgage!

3) Read books on financial management & real estate - Establish a financial plan for yourself.

4) Do your research on areas you potentially would like to live in.

The number of young adults purchasing homes is on the rise - If you follow the aforementioned tips, you will be well on your way in becoming apart of the movement!

With rates extremely low and now that values have come down to affordable levels, there has been no better time in recent memory for young people to buy an affordable home.  Great reminder Linda!
