I woke up to 4,243 e-mails... Give me a couple of days to do a YouTube...

I am trying to figure out how to answer some of your questions so please be patient with me because I normally only get a couple hundred e-mails a day (between eight accounts) and there is no way in Hell I'm going to read all of this. There are a few things I can answer now because I've got some time between processing photographs, but the rest is going to have to be a YouTube chat with a photo-montage to explain things because you're asking for a lot of information. I wont share all of my secrets, just a few (LOL).When it comes to creating art you have to find your own path because you are expressing yourself. You are the first ingredient to making your art unique and personal. :-)

Some of you wanted an updated picture of me because they are hard to find on the Internet. Okay... so here I am at approximately 3 PM today (LOL). This shot was taken this afternoon in Flushing Meadow Park by my gal pal Susana Isakharova. I picked her up from work so we could hang out and chat because I haven't seen her for days. I sent her a text earlier asking Sana to do me a huge favor and take a couple of shots of me in the park because that's what some of you wanted to see so here I am (LOL).

The reason why you're having a hard time finding pictures of me on the net is because I usually am the one taking all the pictures (which leaves me out of a lot of shots - LOL). I try not to smile too much in pictures (and usually avoid being in them on purpose because I can be cranky that way) so of course Sana had me cracking up the entire time we were walking around the park having girl talk while she stalked me with my own Nikon (LOL). It almost became a game where the moment I started laughing at something she said she'd whip out my Nikon and grab the shot before I could stop her. The more I tried to look serious for my blog update the more she made me laugh, to the point where I'm like, "Damn woman - you're ruining my cranky reputation." Her response was to say something hilarious, then go "Ha! Caught you smiling..." snap, snap, snap, snap, snap (LOL).

Irony is taking a picture of a beautiful friend and not being able to post it on my blog. We have rules. I only post if the subject says I can post. Besides, I really just wanted to capture a park moment with her because we always have fun when we get together. I'm into witty banter and chicka is mad smart with multiple master degrees. She helps me figure out Stephen, the Minion Blur and participates in a lot of Life With Wee People adventures. My kids absolutely adore her, and so do I. :-)

Our fun outing came back to bite me on my virtual ass later on. Now hubby wants me to update my Facebook profile picture with Sana's damn smiley shots (LOL). No more Riker's Island game face, he's tired of looking at a three year old icon. Meanwhile, the cartoons in my head are yelling, "Noooooooo. I like that picture. Noah, the Net Geek took it." Now I have to do the "happy happy thang" to keep hubby happy. That's not really a gripe because in reality I'm pretty happy, very easily amused and always laughing about something (like the fact that I still have a bit of donut powder across my top lip Sana didn't bother to tell me about while snapping a crap load of pictures of me to post on my blog later - LOL). This is how you know your friends love you - when they can look you in the eye and see nothing wrong with you while you are having issues (LOL).

Okay. I get it. We missed a wee spot of donut powder (that the neighbor didn't notice when I came home with my groceries... Oh horror - I went shopping in Blockbuster and Key Food looking like this - LOL). I'm still gonna use them anyway because I love my gal pal and she had me cracking up laughing the entire time she was doing me the favor. I don't waste my favors. That means Mikey and Sana win round two of the self argument (I'm running Adobe Master Collection CS4 so I could have photoshoped it out but I won't). I will crop this shot and eventually load it into Facebook as my new profile picture (after dinner) because it will be my constant reminder to keep having fun lots of fun in social media and on my multiple blogs. ;-)

My neighbor Nydia is cooking a very yummy dinner for me so I can get back to working on my book and Angelina Jolie's portrait. I'm going to leave you with a little bit of an eye candy tease until I get the YouTube done. Verbally responding to some of your questions may turn out to be mad fun because I talk way faster than I type. Evidently, based upon your e-mails, we have a lot to talk about (LOL).

Because of your kind words, texts and interesting e-mails showing continuing interest in my personal painting projects, I decided to take my morning run in Manhattan so you guys could see some of the places I mentioned yesterday. A number of you have never heard of The Art Students League of NY so I took a couple of shots of it on 57th Street, then popped across the street into Lee's Art Shop for some more art supplies. Sketching 16x20 requires me to get the same size canvas, so I'm going to prime them later with acrylic and start the next AJ portrait. I may post some photographs tonight or in the morning. :-)

The Art Students League is an amazing building. It's a private art school full of fascinating history so feel free to stop by for a visit and discover wonderful artists like Norman Rockwell attended. While an illustration major at the High School of Fashion Industries, Mr. Murray Sherman suggested we all go and learn something new, so most of the students in his class did because he was an extraordinary fashion artist who came out of retirement to train little upstarts like me how to draw anything our mind could conceive (LOL). ;-)

Lee's Art Shop is directly across the street and Studio 57 is right next door. If you need "Museum Quality Custom Framing" then Studio 57 is where you want to go. Lee's Art Shop also provides quality custom framing if you are a one stop shopper (like I am - LOL). ;-)

Sondra, I am sooooooo looking forward to having a Colorado vacation. There are so many wonderful attractions to visit. I love painting landscapes and find the idea of discovering eye candy in other states enchanting. Glad you like the pictures. I detoured and took a jog in Central Park on the west side in the 70s. Will share more eye candy latter. :-)

Ginger, very true. I was up until 2:38 AM sorting through hundreds. My eyes started crossing and so I camped out on the futon wrapped around my laptop. I'm at a diner reading more of them now. An interesting number of people are fascinated with how I get my eyes to look the way that I do. I may have to draw an eye live to explain it. When you habitually do something breaking the steps down can be tricky sometimes. :-)

Margaret, a lot of the questions overlap so I'm going to group answers together as best I can. Can't answer everything but I may be able to help somewhat. :-)

Lizette, thank you. I've got lots of Manhattan eye candy for you guys. Will post more after lunch. :-)
