Mission Not Impossible Paperless Challenge

Good Day Active Rain Community. According to the EPA, the average American uses approximately one 100-foot-tall Douglas fir tree in paper and wood products per year. Your mission ARC, should you decide to accept is to follow the examples below and not allow you or your loved ones to come in contact with paper.

As always, should you or any of your Rain Force be caught or killed, the ActiveRain Real Estate Network will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This post will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, ARC.  Ok well maybe it’s not going to self destruct but you got the idea.

The first part of this mission is to open up a word document and document all of the different vendors that bill you periodically such as credit cards, phone bills and associations.  Once you have the list comprised you are to contact each vendor and sign up for e-billing.  Let the invoices come to your e-mail.

The next item in the mission is to identify companies that offer e-fax  service.  For a nominal monthly fee which in most cases is cheaper than a dedicated fax line you can have all of your contracts and disclosures come to your email.

You are more than likely going to want to store the invoices and faxes so I recommend visiting DropBox.com.  DropBox.com is a virtual document storage application.  You can download the application on to your pc and smart phones and have all of your documents with you where ever you go.  2 gb of storage is absolutely free.  If you need more space than that there is a monthly fee for up to 100GB of space.

Once you win the high speed KODAK SCANMATE i1120 Scanner you are to scan and save the documents into your new DropBox applications.

The last tip for this mission is to use your voice recorder and camera on your smart phone so as not to have little bits of paper all over the place.

If you are willing and able to implement these steps into your  mission you will be a winner regardless of who gets the high speed KODAK SCANMATE i1120 Scanner.

"This post is written as a submission to the ActiveRain & Kodak Paper-less Challenge contest.  I have the chance to win the high speed KODAK SCANMATE i1120 Scanner, great for helping real estate professionals reduce their stacks of paper by scanning contracts, photos and business cards in seconds."

If the average American uses approximately one 100-foot-tall Douglas fir tree in paper and wood products per year, then a real estate agent must use THREE 100-foot-tall Douglas fir trees in paper and wood products per year.

Vickie- But what wipes that out is how many real estate agents didn't do any business last year?  I thnk it probably offsets.  What do you think?

Joe, was little scared when Kodak i1120 infomercial started.

Yes, we are heading towards paperless office - after all, the electronic storage is not so expensive now-a-days.

Okay Joe, you have me convinced, going to have try this.  Hate to admit it but I spend wasted time trying to find pieces of paper and the stack on my desk gets out of hand sometimes, but not quite as bad as your before picture.  Great post, great video.

Good tips Joe.  I use Google Docs and am happy with the results but I've also heard good things about DropBox.

Suzanne and Anita- I'm so sorry I didn't respond to this sooner, I'm just seeing your comments. When I first bought my first pda my wife would say " Let me get this straight, you paid $200 for a pda and you have little pieces of paper all over the house".  She's pretty sharp like that.

Anita- I love my DropBox app, makes my life owe so easy.
