Yee-Haw! Don't You Love a Parade!
Do you love a parade? The Tucson Rodeo Parade is a BIG DEAL here in Tucson, in fact the entire public school system shuts down for a two-day Rodeo yee-haw. This year's parade begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2010.
One of the biggest draws is our annual Tucson Rodeo Parade. Over 200,000 take in the sights with riders and horses, western-themed floats and wagons, Mexican folk dancers, and of course, marching bands.
If you're worried about getting the perfect parking spot, the lots open at 4 a.m. just off Irvington Road from 3rd Avenue.
If you want a grandstand view, tickets are available. Otherwise, there's plenty of free viewing along the mile-and-a half long route.
So pull out your cowboy hat, your boots, and your favorite jeans and mosey on down to Park Avenue and Ajo way. Afterward, catch a bit of Wild West history at the Tucson Rodeo Parade Museum.
