Ilove to sell real estate.  It makes people happy and usually increases their wealth. At the same time it fulfills their housing need.   What better job could anyone have than this?

My job is better because I live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.  It is the called the Land of 1100 Springs.  How true that is!  You cannot drive very far without coming to a low water crossing.  One side of the crossing will be peaceful and still with the magnificient cypress trees growing along the banks.  The other side of the crossing will be rapids and waterfalls.  How wonderful it sounds as you drive across slowly.

There are always people swimming or tubing at the crossings in the daytime.  If you happen by one late at night with the full moon shining brightly, you might see a doe or a buck or several.  They come to the water at night.  The Hill Country is alive with animals of all sorts, not just the raccoons, squirrels, turtles, lizards, skunks, opossums, but axis deer, auodad sheep, sika, fallow, and black buck antelope.  You never know what you will see as you drive the up and down and twisting roads.  So keep your camera handy.  There are birds here I have never seen anywhere else and birdwatching is big in this country.

Little vacations of the mind are important in this stressful occupation, I think.  That's why I take a few minutes whenever I need to to reflect on the beauty of my surroundings. What do you do?

Ricki, I love your photos!

'Looks like you're new to ActiveRain, and might not have discovered some of the wonderful tools we have to work with.  When you insert a photo, there is a 2nd tab on the top, labeled "Appearance".  If you change one dimension of a photo, the other will automatically adjust to keep your photo in the same scale.  Sometimes I experiment and use 250 as my highest number and let the other dimension adjust.  Sometimes it's more or less.  Another option on that tab is Alignment.  Each time you choose one, you can see in the little box next to it exactly how it align with text.  I tend to use left or right, to make it really simple.

There are so many things that you will learn from the school of hard knocks, and sometimes you'll learn hints from other ActiveRainers - often in the comment section like this.

Thank you, Margaret.  I have just been experimenting and all the things you have told me really help.  I am very new to AR, just two weeks yesterday.  I can't say how many times is too many times to say I love this site, but I do!  Meeting Realtors from all over and getting to discuss ideas back and forth is so great.  I am a novice on the computer as well.  I was retired for several years and came back into the profession this year.  The computer is new to me as well, so I have lots to learn.

These are some of my favorite photos and as I was enjoying looking at them again, I thought maybe some of you might like to look and take a little vacation of the mind in this hot weather. :) enjoy!

Ricki - That's why living in the Texas Hill Country is so great. Whenever you have water, streams, ponds or lakes it always draws people. Very cool and peaceful, away from the city heat . Wish I had been there about three o'clock this afternoon. It is so hot, hot, hot...not looking forward to July and August.

Great photos.

I haven't forgotten my MEME, just can't put my mind to doing it right now but promise I will.

Tell Cheri hi.

Ricki,  I am glad you re posted the Hill Country pictures but you could have added a lot more.  This area is just full of "Beautiful" just like the song Everything is Beautiful.  Some people still think that Texas is just one big tumbleweed.
