Things to keep you on Track!

  1. Pick Three. Each week pick the 3 activities you should get done that will add the most value to your business.  Every time you start something new ask yourself if the activity is helping you accomplish that goal.  If it isn't make sure it is critical before proceeding.

  2. Shoot for the Stars. You probably have 2 kinds of clients - people who have reasonable expectations and people without them. You probably spend 80% of your time on the people who dont' even though they make up a smaller percentage of your client base.  Stop catering to the people who don't - you'll find that you suddenly have more time and more clients.

  3. Urgent/Important. It is easy to get off track with phone calls, emails, meetings, social media and the other 27000 distractions we know find.  Make sure to prioritize between urgent and important and only let the urgent pull you off task.

  4. Don't put it off. When you are checking email or listening to your messages follow up right away - putting off giving someone an answer will only add to your to do list - every time you have to think about a task it takes time and energy - just get it done.

  5. Blow them off. Have a canned response that you can give someone when they ask you to do something that will take you off task and ultimately give you little return - for those of you who are yes men - this will really help from getting sucked down rabbit holes.  Here is a good one, "I am really sorry, I have several deadlines this week that people are counting on me for."  Just leave it at that - you don't owe them any more of an explanation.
