Real Estate Agent with The DiGiorgio Group

There's always so much going on in Olde Town Arvada that I don't make it out to every event. But I've already got Colorado Tartan Day on my calendar, so hopefully I'll be able to come back with some fine pictures later!

For now, I just want to let everyone know about:

Colorado Tartan Day Festival

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

McIlvoy Park, Olde Town Arvada

9 am - 4 pm

Admission is free, and parking is free!

Enjoy learning about Scottish/Irish/Celtic history from various clans, performances by bagpipe bands, Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers, and historical re-enactors.

In addition, there's two special events:

Whiskey Tasting at Bread Winners at 1:30 ($20 per person),

and Dinner/Ceilidh at the Elks Club (doors open at 5:00, $20 for adults $10 for kids 12 and under.

Dinner is at 6:00, at 7:00 is a Kitchen Piping Contest, followed by Angus Mohr (Highland rock & roll!) at 8:00

Reservations for these two events must be made online. Reservations for Colorado Tartan Day special events.

****  Did you know there's an official Coloradan tartan?  ***

I don't know how to get it yet, I found these pictures on www.tartanhedgie.com, but none of their links are live.

How fun is this.  My hubby is finally going to start taking bagpipe lessons.  I am so excited to hear some pretty music.   Hope you go & take some fun pictures :)

How cool.  My dad used to play bag pipes.  Evertime I hear them, it makes me think of him.

I'm so surprised to hear how much interest there is in bagpipe music. I love it myself. I hope your hubby finds his lessons fun and starts blessing your household with music soon. Belinda - the music is so sweet and sentimental, especially so for someone like you, who loved someone who played the pipes.
