Are Your Real Estate Photographs Brilliant

Real Estate Agent

I like taking photographs and have been doing so for decades. I have used many types and brands of cameras over the years and am currently using three different cameras of the same brand, for different applications. I have always done my own photography for my publishing endeavors as well as in my real estate business. Long ago, I had my own darkroom where I would spend hours developing and printing B/W images. I miss certain aspects of those hands-on days but can really appreciate the ease and versatility of digital photography.

Just recently I have begun to handle some photographic projects for other agents. Some agents are just too busy to properly photograph their own listings and others realize that it may not be one of their strong points. Good photography is essential in presenting your listings to the public, so take the time to do it right. The weather cooperated with me on this day and that's not always the case, but I think the colors are dramatic and will draw some attention.

As you peruse the listings on your MLS what kind of pictures do you encounter. Would these catch your eye?

You are so right about the necessity of quality photos. Good photos just don't cut it any more. They have to stand out.

Yes, they would certainly catch the eye of someone who wants to buy a home in Kent - I admit that photography is my weak point.  I have to take about a hundred pics to get a few good ones.  I think that you have talent as well as experience and expertise!

You have inspired me to read my camera's instructions!

I sometimes chuckle at the pictures I see in MLS, Greg. Some are so dark that you can't see the rooms while others just seem to fade into oblivion. Or they take the furniture instead of the room.
