How do you get linking points?

Ginger, I don't know too much about it either.  But, I think the linking points are when you have a website and put a link to AR on it on your landing page or front page.  Tags as far as I can grasp are for the web crawlers to get some information on what you are posting about, I think.

Ginger, you can add the link to your website. I see that it is managed by Advanced Access, Their tech support is great. Tell them what you want to do and they will walk you through it. It takes a little while to get the points credited because AR has to verifyt hat it is in place. Hope that helps.

As mentioned above linking points is just you linking active rain on your website. Once they have verified this you will get points.

Hi Ginger, I remember reading a bit back that ActiveRain no longer gives points for linking. There was never any clarification. If you get them, I'd love to know!

Cindy is correct. Active Rain doesn't give linking points anymore. I actually emailed them to see what they were and it was a thing of the past. I am linked to the Rain on three sites and I have 0 linking points. Enjoy your weekend Ginger.

Ginger, I have yet to hear someone explain a tag. I know what key words are … many of my tags are the same as my keywords. I’m told they can be … but are not always the same. Sorry … no help here.

Thank you for asking, and all the great answers. I was never a big fan of linking my website to active rain. Especially when all of my competitors are shown as agents in Santa Monica. Boo! Glad it's gone.

Glad I found your post....was asking the same questions...great answers as well...I was just working on my website trying to ling AR to get the points....but they don't offer it any more....wonder why?

I am surprised that they stopped awarding points for links - it sounded like a good idea to me.

true, i have tons of links on my profile and in my blogs, why not to get that back?

I found out they stopped points in 2009? Time to get it back AR!

They should either give them back OR take them away from those who have them to make the points scoring fair.

I too am struggling with ways to bolster my points and am finding that they have stopped giving points for many things. That kind of strands us newbies and makes us work harder and do more to get the same amount of points. Oh… and you are a young at heart dog if you are here trying all the new techy things on the rain. Keep at it. BTW I find the daily “show up on the rain” points a nice participation boon and kick myself if I ever miss them.
