What are Gas Prices Doing in Your Area?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executives Nampa, ID

Here we go again with rising gas prices!

Some say we don’t have it too bad in this country. We hear of $5-$8 per gallon prices in other parts of the world and, “why are we complaining?”

Oil prices in the USA will effect so much more than driving our car across town. Shipping, food delivery, construction materials, etc.,etc. will all be affected by rising fuel costs.

Here is an interesting map which shows gas prices across the country.  I hope you find it useful!

I'm lucky to live very close to Point Roberts, Washington (a little tip of the penninsula that got traded because of the Alaska Panhandle)

On this side of the border, we are at $1.27 per litre.  Point Roberts is at 95 cents per litre - and with the Loonie being 2 cents higher than the US Buck...I'm not complaining.

I predict in Denver gas prices will top out at the high 3's but not push into the 4's. Below are our gas prices in Denver Feb. 27th 2011

I say let them go to $10.00 per gallon and let's get over this oil burning vision of ourselves. Electric power can be efficient and cheaper. But it needs a swift kick in the ass to get there. And finding more oil is not any answer to the future. Overthrow the oil barons..On to...the new oil barons I guess.

I sure hope they don't go that high, but my regular spot is the first on Kellie's list above.

Neat Map Don!

As a Canadian I look at you guys moaning about $4.00 Gas and I shake my head.

I wish I had $4.00 Gas.  You don't know how good you've got it.  LOL!

Our price right now is $1.15/Liter. There's 4.5 liters in a Gallon so we are already at $5.17/Gallon.

It was a $1.35/Liter the other day so thats $6.07/Gallon. Ouch!

Enjoy it while you can!

Gas prices have been rising here in San Diego CA. Southern California typically sees some of the highest prices in the nation so I'm sure they'll rise some more.

Don, not surprising that California is the highest! After all they produce it there. Thanks for the map.

Don, thank you for that map, it's awesome.  If the gas goes above $4.00 I'm afraid we will see more distressed properties because people will fill the tank all month and there will be nothing left to pay the mortgage.

Don, great map.  Recently, I read that the "net" cost of these price increases is $100/mo for the average driver.  But, that's just their hard cost for putting gas in "their" car.  What about the suppliers of all of our consumer goods?  Their prices go up, so goes the cost of everything we buy - food, clothing, etc.  Vicious circle.

Don, Great map. And it is frightening to think of what the rising gas prices may do to the economy.

Don: loved the map; I had just been talking about needing to fill up before I came across your blog too!  In Eugene Oregon we're currently in the mid $3.50's, just like the map show!
