Josef Katz wrote a stellar post that made me realize I don't want to be recruited by any real estate firm that doesn't know who and what ActiveRain.com is. Andrew J Lenza also gave me great advice in the comments section of a previous post about selecting a social media savvy firm.

After reading Josef's post this morning I found myself thinking I wish I could reblog this... I want to share it in my e-mails as a response to why I've decided to stay on vacation while evaluating my options and offers.

For the firms who have contacted me, thank you for showing me the kindness of gifting me some of your valuable time while sharing your interests but I must respectfully decline accepting a position at this time. If you are not on ActiveRain then you don't understand Rainers, RainCamp or the fact that Club Chaos is my virtual family and favorite electronic Rolodex. You are not going to get the fact that I give referrals away to my friends and wont blink twice about not taking every listing that comes along because I like being a buyer's broker running the streets with my kids in tow.

The shorties may be in FL now but that doesn't mean they won't be coming back to NY. It also doesn't mean I'm not going to be hanging out in MD, NC, SC, GA and FL while working for a NY firm. I plan to work the entire eastern seaboard but since you don't read my blog you've missed that little detail about me.

Don't worry... I'll send you all this link as well as the one to Josef's post because I'm a pretty transparent writer so if I am going to find a new real estate firm it will have to be one that gets me and understands I blog about anything that interests me.

I am not joining any firm who wants to become my editor or thinks they can shut my blog down if they don't like something that I say. I'd rather leave the industry and play in my paint. If you are going to recruit a writer then be prepared to get the entire package not the section that you want (e.g. the established Google juice).

I can wait for a good offer...

I'm very patient.

ROTFLMAO @ Candice. ONLY YOU can make my dreams come true... Psst... I will stop rewriting my rewrites very shortly (said the chick with 311 pages to burn the cartoons in my head into your brain - LOL). By the way, the curator accepted me into the "Woman in Art 2011" exhibition thanks to a lovely international artist from Brazil. The reception is Saturday. I shall blog about it later tonight. ;-)

J. Philip, anytime, anyplace, anywhere. I am on lockdown today because I'm framing portraits for the exhibition on Saturday. Will call you tomorrow when I am done running back and forth delivering the artwork.

The fans who e-mailed me are going to get their shot at acquiring some of the pages from my sketchbooks. Will blog about that later. Planning a Rain Party at the Ward Nasse Gallery for this Saturday so I need to cater some food to go with all that wine they will be providing. I have to post the invitation on my blog so you guys can come party with me. ;-)
