Why does the Small Business Administration work AGAINST women?
I don't know if any of you have ever incorporated and wanted to be noticed as a women owned small business (WOSB). There seems to be many touted benefits including 'going to the head of the line' status with many government agencies. I've always thought that it would be a great idea to get this status but there's a problem.
What's the problem? Add a fee for 'membership' and the privilege of being a woman and then get socked with a yearly 'subscription' fee after that. So let's see if I have this correctly? I have all the documentation legally available to certify that my business is indeed owned by a women and I have to PAY for the privilege?
I can't find anywhere else on the planet that this happens to men. This is not a 'club' of any sort other than the government wants to see how many actual women own small businesses. I've never heard of any man having to do this and it's just discriminatory. I'm not sure why some states attorney's office (run by a women) hasn't taken these buffoons to task on this in the past.
So if I pay a 'processing fee' of $395 and then continue on with my 'membership' of $195 to $295 for updates needed I can have that status. Hmmmm?
But I do have that status and I have it for free! No need for a TSA body scan or pat down - I freely admit it. Besides every time that I use the 'ladies room' I am again validated.
I just don't think that I EVER should have to pay for it. And because I don't feel I should pay for this status am I 'gender neutral?'
What have other women in business done?
