Fishers Indiana in Photos - A Bridge Over Troubling Waters

By

Cumberland Park, Fishers Indiana

What do you get in Fishers Indiana when you combine record amounts of snowfall followed by torrential rain? A bridge over Lots and LOTS of troubling water, for one thing. And lots and LOTS of road closures for another!

These Fishers Indiana photos were taken at Cumberland Park at Cumberland Road and 106th Street. When it’s not under water, Cumberland Park features a beautiful wooded walking path along the banks of Mud Creek (more like Mud Lake right now!), picnic areas and a community center. The park is also home to the Fishers Soccer Club. Wonder if those field will dry out in time for the spring soccer season?

Pat,

We were just down by there Saturday.  Taking advantage of a somewhat warmer Saturday, we journeyed South.  I was watching news this morning and couldn't believe and hardly recognize some of the areas under water.

Then again, I could hardly recognize the south end of our property, submerged up to our garage this morning.  We've been here almost 11 yesrs and this is the highest we've ever had water as well.

Yikes1 Be careful!!

It's going to take some time before the water levels recede with all the snow you guys had this winter. But it's making for some wonderful photos Pat!

Pat~ I thought about you last night when I heard the ice pelting the family room windows. The weathermen up here showed that the heaviest of the rain was heading your way.  Stay on high ground!!!

Howdy and afternoon to you Pat

Pat,
once the snow and ice starts to melt up here, we are going to be in for a mighty bad mud season and have the rivers and creeks sure will be looking like that. The rivers will also have some big ice dams that will back up and cause the rivers to rise over their banks.

Have a good one

Pat,

Wow.. can't believe how much water you are getting.  It's so hard to get around with water rising that high.  Hope you stay safe...  and I hope it doesn't get much worse!!!

Beautiful winter scenery! This post really helps me relate to Fishers Indiana. Lots of great trees that will be green this spring.

Don--Seems like most of Hamilton County was under water in places.  No rain forecast until Friday--hopefully we can dry out a little!

Laura--Sea diving suit.

Craig--I just have to wonder where the animals go in all of this.

Kim--We really got it--thunder, lightning and all!!

Dale--Hope you live on high ground.  I do and so never have to worry about flooding at home.

Bruce--Not sure if it is how close we are to the White River and tributaries or what, but spring is often like this!

Linda--Guess I should give credit to the city planners in Hamilton County.  Our streets rarely flood!

Joni--You are funny.  I loved Simon and Garfunkel---still do!

Juli--Thanks.  Most of this flooding is in uninhabited areas.

Vickie--Beautiful area---just had an abundance of snow and rain this year!!

I was just talking to some friends today about what is coming and just around the corner.  Spring rains and flooding since there is so much snow on the ground.  These are some great photos Pat, I can feel the power in the moving water...be careful please.

Rene--Other than driving over a few bridges and wondering how easily a bridge could get washed away, I have been fine!  Thanks for your concern!
