What do I blog about....???

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Signature

It's been awhile since I have blogged about anything...I always wonder what in the world should I say?!  Do I just talk about real estate, as this is full of real estate members...or do I just say what is on my mind and just talk about my day.

Well, I figured I would do just that.  It has been a difficult year, or at least in my mind it has..if you look at my numbers, it has been my best year since I have been in real estate, so what's the deal?

Alot has happend, and I think the biggest thing is I changed brokers last April and that has been a whirlwind, it amazes me how different a real estate company can be.  Not only how they do things, but how the whole atmosphere is different.  I didn't expect that at all.  I also didnt expect the agents I work with to be so helpful and willing to work as a team.  sure there were some great agents at my previous company, but not like this, even our top agents want everyone to do as well as they are.  I'm going to huge seminars, and taking in so much my head is spinning.

Maybe that is the issue, maybe I'm taking all this in and trying to implement all of it, when in reality I can't possibly do it all..I have a headache right now just thinking about it all!  Yes, they do say, focus on one thing and do it well...well how do you choose?  I like to think I am a techy person, but with all that is out there you can go nuts with that as well.

I think I just need to really sit back and figure all this out, focus on the important things and what is going to make me work smarter in my business and increase my business.  Then focus on the most important thing, my clients.

any suggestions, comments?

I blog both about real estate and whatever happens to be on my mind.

I totally understand what you mean about having so many things to implement.  If you can afford it, hire a VA to handle as much as you can.  It is amazing how much it frees you up to do other things.  Also, if you have a niche, your business becomes very focused, it also makes it easier to decide on what tools to use in your business or not-because  you have to evaluate "does it fit my target audience?"

Hi Maria - you are doing great...First time back and it is a FEATURE...

It is your blog...you can write whatever you feel like. Steven with ActiveRain University , has a class every Monday around 10 am, where he goes over a list, or topics that are of interest to majority of people. Take baby steps and be consistent. You are heading to an outstanding year. By the way, YOU should be the most important thing...

Maria: Just did a post about this & how I started here on AR. I linked to suggestions from other AR members that might help.  I used to use a form that gave 365 blogging ideas for great real estate agents. When reading the suggestions, that would give me ideas for ones I could do.

I think you should work hard so that people know that you are with KW now.

Maria -- Definitely go hyperlocal.  Blog about local events and businesses.  Also, blog about developments and neighborhoods.  It not only helps the consumer by providing info, it also helps you in expanding your community knowlege and being the go-to person for specific town info.

I'm wrestling with the same question as I roll along fairly early in my AR career!  I'm trying my best to balance work-related, not work-related and comments on others' blogs- like this one, for example...

What you decide to put on your blog has a lot to do with your objective and the personality you want for it to carry.

If the objective is to make yourself known to your buyers, how do you want your buyers to view you?  Make sure that your blog reflects this part of your personality.

If it is to be known as the authority figure for a certain real estate niche amongst other professionals, you can guess that you will take a different turn with this.

Hi Maria~ I'm sure you are settled in a KW now. They do have a lot to offer and I can understand how it can be overwhelming. When I learn too much at once and am challenged with implementing, I pick a few things to focus on (usually 3) and do my best to make those happen. Best of luck.
