Everyday it seems someone will say to me that they are thinking about doing something different. Usually, it is a buyer talking to me about a lifestyle change and their dream to relocate to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sometimes it is a homeowner who wants to sell their home so they can move closer to their grandchildren or change their Santa Fe lifestyle by downsizing. In between, it is frequently a conversation shared via social networking sites about just what to do next in this new landscape of real estate or our changing economy.
Each time I'm in the conversation, I frequently them ask when was the the last time you did something for the lst time? Yes, doing something for the first time does usually qualify as different. For me, it is the fastest way to let my imagination focus on something new and give my left-brain a rest.
This was what I did yesterday. For the first time on a day in February in 2011, I made a short drive to the Pecos River to see experience a fresh water stream. Although, New Mexico was once under water in the dinosaur age, there are no oceans in our state. Water is here in the form of quiet streams, powerful rivers and majestic lakes. This is what the oceans left behind.
Doing something for the lst time is now what I do everyday to do something different. What about you?
