Call me crazy, but Dog sledding is on my "to do" list!  not a race, but perhaps an overnight or two...

Tammy, I've always found dog sled racing to be an amazing sport... one I know I personally could not endure.  It must be a very exciting event.  Keep us posted and share some pictures after the March event.

With the Iditarod starting this weekend, it makes perfect sense that Fairbanks Alaska would have March as their Dog Sled Month.

Sarah Palin would be proud!  I think the saying "work like a dog" is based off these wonderful hard workers who live for this task and train hard at it as well.  It certainly was not based off of my dogs who lounge in the sun, sleep all day, eat and want attention of being petted.  Nice feature of this event!

Tammy,

What a interesting story.

With a $25,000 prize there must be some good sponsors.

Ray - There is one big sponsor giving up the $25000 and other donaters on top of that. Pretty cool

Hi Tammy Dog sledding does have some adventurous appeal, but I personally am opposed to putting my self in a position were if something went wrong my fingers or toes could get so cold they fell off. Maybe I watch to much TV LOL ........Brad
