DC Neighborhood Projects: VIDA Fitness on U Street

With the downturn of the economy, there has been few construction cranes seen around Washington DC. The one sign of new construction which is visible on U Street is the development of the new VIDA Fitness on 1612 U St. NW.







"Work has begun on the expanded version of Vida Fitness which will occupy more than 50,000 square feet of space at 1612 U St. NW.







The $13 million project features such amenities as six personal training studios, two spas, a Bang salon, locker rooms with rainfall showers, a rooftop pool with cabanas and a fire pit, and other features. Capitol City Brewing Co., another von Storch company, will introduce a more upscale restaurant concept, 901, at the location. The Bang Salon previously at the spot is being renovated as well." (Washington Business Journal)



The new gym will be branded as a VIDA Fitness.
