Well, Healthcare & Finance Reform Are Already Negatively Impacting Me!

Real Estate Agent with Lanier Partners

Much of what we have heard from the adminstration, Pelosi and Reid is how great the health care and finance reform bills will be for me. Well, so far, the only changes have been negative.

Last year, my insurance provided sent a letter that they would no long offer my policy because of changes in the health care law. This forced me to find a different provider and it is costing me more per month.

Now, I can no longer pay by credit card. The credit card processor for my current insurance company is no longer accepting credit card payments for insurance and other medical bills. They are attributing it to a combination of regulations under the health care reform and financial reform bills.

Perhaps the credit card processor is just running a bit scared with uncertainty, perhaps it is reading more into the new regulations than are there. Or perhaps this is just the beginning of a cascade of changes that will be raining down on us as the regulations under these two bills are rolled out. Either way, its the kind of crap that happens when bills are passed without being read, and when they are rushed through with little thought about the consequences.

I wonder what my next benefit will be?

Maybe your next benefit will be not having to make your own decisions about how your own medical situations will be dealt with!  What a load off the mind!

Mike, I don't hear many good "side effects" coming from this new legislation either, especially in a tough economy we see things increasing in price.

Don't you know it's Bush's fault!

Even with conservatives in the House it's going to get allot worse before it gets better!

Mike....For anything that is not up to par, Sal has the habit of saying " it's _+#* Bush's fault";  warned him not to say it out loud & guess what, the other day he was overheard & a man near us said "Boy, you got that right"  So to Bill that is fun to hear & read in certain groups, but be careful there may some who actually believe it  LOL
It is so true that things are 'changing', but not necessarily in the manner expected.  Was shocked to  see that 150+ groups ?, have been given 'passes' on this new Health Code; guess that they missed you as well as us. Good & interesting points here.  Have a great rest of the week.

Mike, I don't have insurance and Obama care scares the hell out of me. It's enough to keep me out of the hospital for any reason other then an absolute emergency.

Paul - there has been a lot of that going around

Brian - I am sure that is the way it is headed

Nick - thanks

Gary - but there are no tax increases for the middle class, the President keeps telling us

Bill - I am sure that it is Bush's fault, he, and the then republicans in the majority, spent so much and pissed so many people off that American voters either stayed away or voted for the dems hoping for a change. Unfortunately, its not the change they hoped for.

Barb - that is 750 groups, including many unions, including of course SEIU

Don - I already know, in two years I will go on Medicare, which is being gutted

Jay - but they are permanently exempted

Mike, ususally the reason why they don't like to take credit cards is because of the liability of the Chargebacks from unhappy customers. It stinks that this new, improved healthcare program is causing you problems.

Bush 34 started with the 107th Congress, had an evenly split Senate and House with two Independents.

The 108th and 109th gave him a majority in both chambers.

It was the 109th that abandon there principals. Bush compromised!

The 110th  gave the big stealer's control. Bush compromised!

Bush like his Daddy compromised! You can't compromise with evil with out becoming evil! But, none, even Clinton thanks to 3 Republican Congresses, compare with our current disgrace.

So Congress did it! On the other hand a President with... can wield the veto.

Mike- my co-pay went from $20 to $50 and my monthly fee was raised as well.  Our company warned us of the changes and flat out told us it was due to Obama Care.

Sorry to hear about your issues with the insurance provider.  I'm sure more to come unless we can get this thing reversed.
