The saying, "A photo is worth a thousand words" doesn't begin to cover what you feel when you see an MRI screen of your own body! I recently had an MRI of my neck as I had been having upper back pain, dizziness and tingling in my right arm....but let me give you a little history:
Nineteen years ago, I had surgery for a herniated disc in C6-C7 of my neck. I was lucky enough to have one of the best surgeons in the country, Dr. Gene Bowles, and the surgery which consisted of implanting a bone chip and a titanium plate in my neck was very successful.
About 5 years ago, I started to have some new issues - pain in my upper back and neck....but after tests which showed that the disc above my previous surgery was bulging and consulting with a surgeon, I decided to try alternative forms of pain managment. Up until recently, so far, so good.
Two years ago, I had a horrific accident where I fell down a flight of hardwood stairs. I suffered numerous injuries including bleeding on the brain, facial bone fractures and shattered wrists (both of them!). My recovery was amazing thanks to a wonderful surgeon, good genes and a determination to live.
Back to today...after weeks of having pain, dizzy spells and tingling, I insisted on an MRI. This week I met with the surgeon who had seen me five years ago. He showed me the MRI image of my spinal cord. He also showed me what it should look like! A picture is truly WORTH a THOUSAND WORDS! The image showed that I had no spinal fluid around my cord in the area of C5-C6.....even an untrained eye could see how abnormal it was! My husband looked at me and said "You have to do something quick!"
I am scheduled for surgery. I am scared, because the surgery will be to add an additional fusion (plate) above my previous plate....
So, to tie this into the real estate conversation. TAKE GOOD PHOTOS!!!! It will make a difference on the decisions your potential clients and customers will make! It could be a life changing decision.
