What In Your Home, Is Made In America?

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

Interesting question!   Have you ever looked at or under your furniture, your dishes, your area rugs, your appliances, your television, your computer(s), phones, clothes or anything else that you may have?  It's quite the surprise.  Our workforce would increase by 200,000 people, by your spending just $64.00 on goods made in America.

I know that my most of my furniture was made in America.  I have Hitchcock chairs and tables, tea cart, and Ethan Allan bedrooms and living room furniture. Baby furniture, that I have recently unpacked because of my new Grandson, was made here in America.  Most of the product for babies today, is not.

Check around your home, see what you have that was made in America.  Maybe, the next time you make a purchase, you might just check the tagHelp our economy, buy as much as you can, made in America.

And cars, car manufacturers? Some Fords, GMs made in Canada, Mexico. Or Japanese, Korean companies with non-union plants in US and profits going oversees.......

Unfortunately, no one (us Americans) seem to care.

Oh well, guess I'll get back to real estate. Never sold a home that wasn't made here. (Too bad our politicians fail to realize the economic impact of every home sold here- the builders, carpenters, suppliers, etc. Affects our own total economy to such a great degree.)

Few of my clothes are Made in USA.

Roy, Brian Buffini has been saying that for years.  Real estate would turn around the economy.  They just don't get it. Most politicians are not business people.  Business owners, of any kind, know more about this country's ecconomy and workforce, then any politician.  Unfortunately, when they run for office, the citizens seem to vote the same people in, over and over.  Keep selling homes and do your part.  We will get there, one house at a time.

Mike, I like that one:)  One out of three, isn't bad.  Spend $64.00 and you have helped to employ 200,000 people.

Frances - I'm afraid my situation is a lot like Mike's; probably very little in my home is USA made.  However, I find it hard to believe that there's only $64 difference between US made products and the same foreign made product.

Donna, Yes, it's true.  They did a study of this on ABC News.  Check out their site and you will be able to read more of the details.  You can make a difference, without spending great amounts of money!
