Local agents were in the audience of an estimated 8000 from across the US and Canada to hear the annual State of the Company address by CEO Mark Willis. They were hoping to hear good news and they were not disappointed as Willis shared the statistics for 2010.
Keller Williams ended the year with 79,315 associates, 701 market centers and associates PROFIT SHARE up 7.2% with agents receiving $34.6 million dollars back from market center owners. Since the inception of the PROFIT SHARING program the company has given back over $304 million in earnings to its agents who have helped grow the company.
Additionally, Willis stated that since the real estate market’s sharp downturn in 2005, the company has grown 30% in agents, 40% in market centers and 11% in closed units. “The growth of the company,” he said, “can be attributed to the growth of its agents.” Agent productivity continued to rise with closed units up 6% from December 2009 to 2010 while closed units reported by The National Association of Realtors declined 4.8%.
Willis also did the honors of “turning on” the industry’s first complete lead-to-close, seamless and paperless business solution, E Edge. This unique tool is now available to every KW associate at a fraction of what they would normally pay for this kind of functionality if it even existed, which it did not before E Edge.
The convention was held at the Anaheim Hilton at Disney Land, “But unless you arrived early or left late, there wasn’t much time for Mickey,” said Hal Frasier who with four other agents and Leadership from the Treasure Coast Market Center attended. “Training sessions started at 7:30AM and ran until 6:00PM. It was the most intense and valuable training I have ever experienced in my 24 years in the business.”
Team Leader/Broker, Julio Sanchez was featured on a panel where he shared his Social Media recruiting ideas with other Team Leaders and Leadership from across the US and Canada. Earlier, at an awards ceremony, Sanchez received the Southeast Region Recruiter of the Year award for growing the Stuart office from 70 to 152 associates over a 12 month period after assuming the Team Leader position in October 2009. “This should go to my Associate Leadership Council who constantly refer agents from other companies they believe would benefit from our unique business model,” he remarked, “We have strong agent leaders who, as a group, act like a board of directors of a traditional company.”
Also attending from the local office were, Andy Spears, Kevin Tolbert, Bud Bierlein and Jeanie Martyka, Market Center Administrator. All attendees were anxious to learn the location of next years’ convention site and the local folks were pleased that it will be in Orlando. Treasure Coast agents are already planning for that event as it will mean more cutting edge learning opportunities and networking as well.
