These wise words came from my broker this week when talking to an agent about getting some new listings. The more I thought about it, I think there is a lot of meat here!...
(And yes, he DOES have a fine way with words!)
I posted this on Facebook and many people didn't get it! Okay, here we go: Life is a Highway (right, Tom Cochrane?) And the Bus is Prosperity.
But for some reason, we like to hang out on the sidewalk and watch American Idol, watching all those buses pass by. We call to the buses, wave to them, see them coming down the road from MILES away, but somehow have trouble just stepping out there in front of one.
So how can we STEP OUT THERE?
1) Call your Top 10
Maybe a better question is, "Do you KNOW your Top 10 Clients?" How many have you called this week? This month? They should be contacted once a month. Encourage them, chat with them, THANK them, and they will work FOR you.
2) Knock on Doors
What? Do Realtors still do that? (Only the hungry ones looking for buses). I have a great story about this, but I'll save that for another blog...
3) Hold an Open House
But that takes SO MUCH TIME on a busy weekend. Yup. But why not think of it as a BUS DEPOT because all those buyers just walking up to you for help.
Let's all take that step of the sidewalk this week and stare that next bus right into our next success!
How are YOU stepping out into traffic? Been hit by any BIG BUSES lately?
(Special thanks to Stephen Smith, broker, mentor, friend, brother at RE/MAX Revolution for your daily and constant inspiration.)
