I recently had a showing on a sweet, bank-owned home on a private street in Cincinnati. This home was a lovely old home, loaded with charm. It had beautiful, original hardwood floors, a magnificent front door, high ceilings, and original woodwork throughout. The kitchen and baths had been updated. There was a breakfast room off of the kitchen with the classic, large window that one would expect. A home that had remained true to its architecture and design!
The bedrooms were all tucked away upstairs, just the way that they should be in a house like this one. Their windows provided views of the gorgeous front and back yards. What a place! Everything just as it should be-until we went into the bathroom.
The bath was enormous-much larger than I had expected. Marble flooring, double sinks, and the largest heart-shaped jacuzzi tub ever. Not what one would expect in a house like this one. That tub was flush with the floor, and there were no steps or handbars to help on the way in or out. One would just step down and hope for the best. There was also a very large shower head hanging down from the ceiling that was eye level for someone who was standing on the bathroom floor. I was speechless, and so was my client. I would have expected this from a hotel in Vegas, but never in this home. The only thing missing was the red velvet wallpaper!
