One of the key things that sets looking for real estate with Corcoran's interactive platforms apart from its competitors is the vast wealth of information we provide for what's AROUND the property. From corcoran.com to our interactive touchscreen window displays, its in our digital DNA. One of the most successful (and most fun) ways we do this is inside our iPhone app, sharing this information based on either the property being looked at or where the person is in the city via our 'Get Out Nearby' feature baked into each property detail page. We provide a large amount of information on shopping, nightlife and places to eat around each home for sale or rent, giving a great sense of the area and what it's like to really live there. With this feature, you can call to make reservations, read reviews, and even check-in on Foursquare, all directly within the Corcoran app.
Today we are thrilled to announce the next phase of this project, which will populate Corcoran's app with nearby news stories for real estate, retail stores, and restaurants, created and curated by our good friends at The Curbed Network. The way our app users will read these stories differs from our other 'nearby' content though. The stories from Curbed (real estate), Racked (retail) and Eater (restaurants) will only appear when you are looking at a home with a 'nearby' story, making the stories discoverable, highly targeted to the user, and fun to find within the app. In this sense they are more like a venue's 'Nearby Special' that has been so popular in services such as Foursquare.
We're thrilled to have partnered with The Curbed Network on this project, and thank them for helping us to realize our dream of providing a great level of local, insightful and relevant information around Corcoran's home searches. We hope you have fun discovering these stories around town, and thank you for supporting our interactive future.
