Decision Time

Making decisions in lifeDecision making is part of what defines a successful career.  Yes, you need to have rules that you don’t redefine with every turn of the whim, but how we communicate and what we say in those communications does change over time, especially with the internet moving at light speed.  There is no need to rehash the truth about how the internet has changed real estate.  While it will always remain a person to person business in the end, the starting line has moved to the web.  If you are not there you will be gone, simple as that.  So the smart ones have adapted, made the decision to embrace technology, got themselves a web site that delivers leads, opened a Facebook account and then built a business page from there, learned what QR codes are and use them.  Where are you along any of these lines.

Technology is something I love, but I am not a technologist in any way.  I know how to make video from my former and continuing career in social media marketing, but that is not programming or technology. Today I apply that video skill to real estate, but I have fallen down and just now getting up in many other areas of technology.  Truth and Service are words I live by, there can never be enough of that in any industry, but especially real estate when people are making their most important large financial decisions.  The bumpy road of life is beautifulBut Truth and Service does not speak to anything people will search for on the internet and that is why I am moving my daily blog over to my new website Boston Area Quick Move-in Homes.  Now here is a title that has everything to do with real estate.

Boston Area Quick Move-in Homes defines what a selection of people will be searching for every day.  When they get to my new website, (went up yesterday and will be developing each day from now on), they will find information about homes in and around the Boston area that can be moved into quickly.  Think relocation, think divorce or death of a partner and you are thinking about people who will want and need this.  By making the decision to leave this site for another I am deciding to embrace technology in a better way.  I don’t define what technology looks for, I just need to follow the formula and this week I am doing just that.  See you on the other side, my decision making is complete here.  Thank you

Ah, the decisions we all must continually make along the way in our journey.  Hey, it is Friday and I am deciding right now to have a great weekend.

Larry,

Ah yes but to embrace technology is to embrace constant change.  Because of the creativity out there we are constantly being shown new and improved tools, apps, websites, and even hardware.

@Paula  Good for you.  Enjoy that weekend, you deserve it.

@Larry Technology is constantly changing, but we need to be careful not to chase the new shiny object.  I am saying goodbye to TruthandService as my main blog site and following people like Renee Burrows of Los Vegas and Debe Maxwell of Charlotte towards a website that truly delivers more meaningful content to the searchers out there.  A better mouse trap.  Thanks for your comment.

Larry,

Wonderful  thoughts expressed here, and I love the picture of the rails.  Black and white is so much richer than color in so many ways as it communicates texture and substance.  A

Hi Larry. Technology is constantly changing. Sometimes not by the minute but by the seconds. Like you've stated... the smart ones will adapt and I strongly believe that in order to survive we must adapt including to technology. At times it is a bit overwhelming to learn the new tools.  I just take one thing and one day at a time.

The world with all the blogging sites and social media move so much faster than what we are used too and i think you are right, if you do not keep up with it, you might not be so successful in the future.
