SnowFest at North Lake Tahoe March 4-13, 2011 SnowFest is one of my favorite events at Lake Tahoe. This year we're celebrating 30 years! Although it's on the California side of Northshore Lake Tahoe, it's my absolute favorite event: the Polar Bear Swim at GarWoods. It's unbelieveable that folks--guys and gals alike--are willing to jump into the frigid waters of Lake Tahoe--and swim quite a distance--for a chance to win a few dollars. The audience crowds the pier, cheering the freezing swimmers along. It's a party. It's tomorrow. Check out GarWoods in Carnelian Bay, CA.
