San Diego Science Festival “Expo Day”
March 26, Petco Park

The annual San Diego Science Festival “Expo Day” takes place March 26, at Petco Park in downtown San Diego:

http://www.missionvalleycondos.info

http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoThe event starts at 10:00 a.m. and goes until 5:00 p.m. There will be over 135 science activities, and the best thing about it is that they are user friendly. That means you can play with many of them, such as finger painting with algae. Somehow that doesn't sound like my type of event, but who knows?

There will also be an Ask Me booth where scientists and engineers will be available to answer questions and encourage YOU to study science and engineering and possibly even make it your career.

I understand that some school teachers are offering extra credit if you interview a scientist or engineer at the Ask Me booth.

Jim:  This is a great family event and the extra credit that may be given to children attending and asking questions at the "Ask Me", booth is a very good incentive!

Jim,

I did a number of science projects and fairs since we have 4 sons. We always had a blast.

Jim this sounds like a lot of fun.  Not sure about the finger painting with algae.  What if you get some in your mouth.  Ewwwww!  Spoken like a true girl.

Nice highlight of the San Diego Science Festival Jim. I certainly know that both my 7 & 3 year olds would very much enjoy the finger painting with algae activity.

Well, I'm thinking finger-painting with algae can be lots of fun as long as you don't lick your fingers afterwards :) Sounds like a fun event---someone in the family needs to go and take pictures and post them.

Sounds wonderful.  I love Science Fairs, my husband use to teach science & math and grade the projects from the schools.  It was great to see the wonderful projects.  There were things set forward in the rules that made sure the students actually did the work and interviews with them as well before winners were announced, it was a great learning experience for them and us too.  Nice post to promote the event in San Diego, the fun community to live (I hear there are great people who live there too).

Jim, it does sound interesting, I am not sure that I would enjoy finger painting with algae, but it does sound interesting!
