Flooding in Lorain County, Ohio - Can you see my driveway?

By

After an accumulation of snow, then a heavy rain with warmer temperatures - this is what my front yard looked like. You can't even see my driveway! The flood water came into our pole barn and the back detached garage this past Monday. This weekend was going to be the clean up and dry out day ... but guess what? More rain!! Any ideas on how to quickly dry out the interior of a cement floor building?

Carla, That's a scene I saw to much of last year. Hope I don't see it again. Fans, fans, fans are the answer. Pack-rat that I am I had a couple of old furnace blowers motors and cages around and I had them going 24/7 as well as any box fans I could find. I also went out and purchased a new dehumidifier. I wish I would have purchased the most expensive one as this one fills up to fast. Good luck!

Carla when was this photo?  Is all your snow and ice gone? Or is this today?  We are getting a lot of rain but our snow is gone in Columbus.

Good luck!

Carla, hopefully with the rain coming, you won't have a bigger flood.  I've seen some people use shop vacs and big box fans to dry everything out.

Yes, Danny - can't wait for warm sunny days ahead. Last night, hit with freezing rain and more snow. Not good.

Carla, Bob is right with the fans, but I'm not sure how much that's going to help you until you lose some of that ice, snow and water...and then of course the cold.  My basement flooded once in Illinois...it was a 100 year flood...lost many important things.  I certainly hope you faired better and things get back to normal for you soon.
