What is on your list to give for free once every single agent catches on to the FREE CMA?  Stop giving away your brains, your work product, your functionary and fiduciary council, or eventually, you will have nothing left to sell.  Real Estate today looks like many of the industries that have gone through a considerable change towards extinction in the last 100 years..  960,000 agents down for 1.6 million only 3 years ago, all selling the same product and willing to go as low as free to cut out the next agent. The truth is if everyone is dong it , it's no longer remarkable and no longer stands out, it simply becomes just another cost of doing business. There is no such thing as a free lunch.  If you all continue to give away everything for free, to get a leg up, eventually what will you sell?  Your commissions are eroding, your perceived value is being crushed, your spending more time with home shoppers and less with home buyers (A big distinction) and all the time thinking that free, reduced or bargain priced was your competitive advantage.  IT IS NOT!  Stop giving away, at the cost of your industry, your fiduciary and functionary council.  It is not the means to an end its the end to a means.

Well Matt, if you start it, then more will follow, then everyone will be giving them away for free and you'll need to switch to red.

Some day eventually comes when most agents realize that the "Working Smart, Not Hard" concept doesn't really apply in the world of real estate sales. As long as we have no control of the outcome, it simply can't be that simple. Compensation models are changing and I'm going with it. Stay the course, Matt!
