Life's Too Short to Feel Crummy All the Time (A Free Teleseminar)

By
Education & Training with Sell with Soul

We're having a different kind of show this week in the SWS Virtual Studio... and I really hope you'll join us and bring all your friends. Even if our topic du-jour doesn't apply specifically to you, I'm absolutely positive it applies to someone you know and love... and could change their (and your) life.

Your health.    free teleseminar

All of us feel crummy from time to time. Whether it's as a result of something we did to ourselves (stayed out too late, indulged more than we intended, etc,.) or something beyond our control, feeling less than 100% is a normal part of the human experience.

But if you feel crummy more often than you don't feel crummy, well, it shouldn't be that way, and it doesn't have to. While I don't profess to being a doctor or even an expert on any health-related subject, I have years of experience dealing with chronic health issues and I'm feeling compelled to share what I've learned with my friends (and their friends!).

On Thursday morning, March 10th, we're going to talk about the profound ways your diet affects your health. Not just your weight and not just your digestion, but just about every system in your body that can (and does) give you grief. Migraines? Allergies? Sinus infections? Muscle aches? Fatigue? Arthritis? And yes, various digestive upsets and maladies, as well as weight gain and water retention.

Not to worry, this isn't a show about popping a magic (expensive) pill or converting to veganism or eating organic. It's about understanding how much power YOU have over YOUR body, and whether or not you feel crummy on a regular basis. And what you can do about it.    Please try to attend and invite a friend or two, whether or not they're in real estate. I think it'll be a life-changing hour... if you're ready for your life to be changed!

My guest on the show will be Elizabeth Yarnell, an author and nutritional expert, among many other impressive credentials. I've been working with Elizabeth since October in hopes of finally overcoming my health issues and y'know what? I think we've done it, or at least, are well on our way. And, my friends... it's truly wonderful.

I'm familiar with food allergies and it does affect the way we feel.  The wheat-free diet is recommended for children with autism and I'm sure there are millions of adults who can benefit from it too.  One of my sons is now feeling much better on a gluten-free diet after years of suffering from a long list of skin and respiratory issues.

Great topic!  I've recently found out about some annoying health issues and have had to make some changes - it is amazing the difference already.

I'm looking forward to it!  I spent three years with significant pain in the area of my gallbladder.  After the first year, I had my gallbladder removed (muscle was not expelling enough bile).  A year later when the pain was no better, I underwent a battery of tests including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Colonoscopy and Endoscopy only to be told there wasn't anything wrong with me.

The doctor described is as a "functional disorder" and kept encouraging me to take drugs to get rid of the pain.  He was less than thrilled that I wanted to determine the problem rather than treat the symptoms!

Last Christmas, we stopped using the microwave, got rid of all teflon and aluminum cookware, started using coconut oil and introduced more raw food to our diets.  Within 2 weeks I was feeling much better.  Now, I'm 95% pain free and really only have symtoms when I eat out.

Wow!  That was a long winded way of saying that you are what you eat.  Pay attention to what you are eating and you will likely feel better overall.

Sally - your journey sounds similar to mine... nuthin' wrong with me, but gee whiz... I HURT! I simply can't eat out, but it's a small price to pay for feeling good 95% of the time... See you soon!

I'm late to the party - but I will chime in with something.

When I was working in the lab - I got sick.  It started shortly after the tragedy of 911 - but it persisted until I left Einstein in late 2005.  The only thing I can think is that on 9/11 itself - I was coming down with something.   I had a fairly high fever that morning and stayed home that day -  (staying home actually prevented me from being within 25 blocks of the WTC that day)  Later the bug I had went into bronchitis...then pneumonia.  Ok - that happens.  But what happend next made is more to the point.

I kept getting sick - over and over and over.  It was an infection that I couldn't shake.  The bronchitis just kept coming back.  Within six months I was having increased issues in the lab when I did a lot of animal work.  The mouse rooms had thousands of mice in them.  The only relief was a big dose of benedryl before animal work.  Then I needed coffee so I could function.  I restricted animal work to 2-3 days a week so I wasn't taking benedryl every day.  But I still got sick.  9/11 and the pneumonia might have been the trigger - but I was turning out to be very allergic to the animals.  The bronchitis cleared up after I left the lab for good.

Looking back NO career is worth what that did to me for about four years.  It was like being in a semi-drugged state half the week.  If you are feeling sick there is generally a cause - for God's sake - nail it down - and then deal with it.  I didn't realize how misearble I was feeling until I was no longer there.

RM - thanks for your story. Something you said struck a chord with me... during the show, my guest Elizabeth told the story of her son who was chronically constipated and all the doctors could advise was to give him laxatives. She said that she was pretty sure his condition was NOT caused by a shortage of laxatives - that there was something WRONG that needed to be corrected, not simply treated.

It reminds me of something that happened in my house this last weekend... we were having various plumbing issues (toilets that weren't flushing, disposals backing up, clothes in the washer dripping wet at the end of the cycle) and we were running around dealing with each individual problem. We replaced the kit in the one of the toilets, plunged out the kitchen sink and ran the washer spin cycle again. Turns out there was a major clog in the main sewer line that was causing all the problems - DUH - and once we corrected that, all the other problems went away - whoda'thunk?

So yeah, when you're chronically ill, there's a REASON. And that reason isn't a shortage of aspirin, laxatives or antihistamines!
