CARNIVAAAAAAIIIIILLLLL! 
That’s right, its CarniVail time in the Vail Valley. After wrapping up an amazing weekend of music at the celebrated Snow Ball Music Festival held in Avon at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain, everyone is now gearing up for CarniVail week in Vail. Be sure to swing by my office at Solaris while you're in the Village celebrating!
Via buzz.snow.com : “Mardi Gras”, “Carnival”, or “Fat Tuesday” are celebrations that end the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of lent. Traditionally a carnival was the last blowout before a long period of penitence. In Vail, Fat Tuesday is called CarniVail. The difference between CarniVail and many other Mardi Gras blowouts, is that not only can you participate in world famous festivities, like those in Rio or the Big Easy, but you can start your day by skiing and riding Vail’s terrain, which is so good and fun you should probably add it to your post-Mardi Gras confession…just to be sure.
CarniVail is celebrated for three days, from March 6 to March 8. Festivities include “The World’s Highest Low Country Crawfish Boil” at the top of Vail Mountain, as well as a traditional parade through Vail Village. The Crawfish Boil is on Sunday March 6 at Eagle’s Nest from 12 – 2:30pm. At 3pm on Fat Tuesday (March 8) the Bud Light Street Party starts in Vail Village, which includes the Mardi Gras Parade, and is the place to go to score free beads.
The parade is followed by a free concert at 4pm from Frogs Gone Fishing at Check Point Charlie in Vail Village. If you’re here for CarniVail make sure you stay until Friday March 11 when there is another Street Party (6pm) at the Solaris Plaza, with a free concert from Buckwheat Zydeco, which is presented by Grand Marnier, so you’re guaranteed a good time.
