Good morning, Larry. Thanks for the compliment! This is my first attempt at B&W imagery.

And the clouds are clearing. Our local weather is predicted to be in the 80’s by Wednesday.

The bird is perfectly framed, and love the black and white for this shot. :)

Good afternoon, Steve. Thanks so much for the compliment!  (Your B&W photos inspired me.)

And I decided to post this in the Tuesday's Treasures Group... a day early.

That looks dreary. Even the poor little bird looks dreary. However, it is a beautiful, dreary picture.

Good morning, Jim. Yep, it is kind of a dreary image... which is what that morning felt like. Occasionally, the sun did peak though the thick blanket of clouds... providing some cheeriness. Otherwise, it was dreary.

I snapped the photo on Monday when the storm quickly passed through our area, but yesterday was clear and temperatures were pleasant. Starting today and continuing through the weekend, it’s supposed to be sunny and warm, with temps in the mid-70’s. (Time to fire up the barbecue, my friend!)

And your comment reminded me of Edgar Allan Poe's classic poem, The Raven:

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door -
            Only this, and nothing more."

Hi Steve! I’m very flattered! Thank you for featuring me in Tuesday's Treasures!

And I appreciate you providing me with your black-and-white photo tip. This image was in color, but it appeared to have the appropriate light-to-dark contrast you had mentioned. I was very pleased with the result when I converted it from color to grayscale. Thanks again for the insight!
