The Flower Mound Post Office Waves a New Flag

I noticed that the Flower Mound, TX Post Office is waving a new flag with the American Flag. It got my attention and so here it is...

This journal entry is dedicated to all those Americans missing in action and held Prisoners of War. They  have not been forgotten and I"m proud that the Post Master from the Flower Mound, Texas Post Office decided he was going to display this new flag over the city where I live and work - it got my attention. I am indebted to the families of those who sacrificed their lives for American freedom. We the people, must never forget them.

My heart has been touched by these brave and courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country. Today I give pause and remember those who are serving our country and I could cry my eyes out for those POWs or MIAs of the past and present but instead my word feelings are being thrust out into cyberspace to let the families and the soldiers know that I care. I know in my  heart that I am being distracted by business but this IS my business. My business is to care about the needs of others.

No matter what happens today or what looms ahead, if you don't give back to your community and thank those that have made sacrifices for the freedoms that we share, than why call yourself an American at all? We must remind ourself that all that we have and all that we hope to have for the generations to come is contingent upon those making sacrifices on our behalf.

May God Bless our soldiers and keep them out of harms way.

Tony & Darcy,

Thank you for your comments and your support for our military and their families. Seeing those flags over my Town of Flower Mound Post Office a short while ago sent up a surge of emotion and a reminder about what it means to be an American. Feelings ran deep...

Hi Patricia, you do see the flags in New York.

We also have some streets that were named after the MIA.

Joshua,

I didn't know that about NY. I'm very pleased to know that some of the streets in NY have been renamed to honor the MIAs.

Thank you for sharing that information.

 Michelle,

I would hope there's a new trend and more people would fly both flags. We all need to be reminded and what better way than to honor both flags and especially for what they stand for. Thank you for being in agreement and your reply is appreciated. Let's all pray together for God to keep our soldiers safe.

Linda,

I knew that when I wrote my post I was filled with emotion; yet those feelings came deep down from the well of my soul. Our soldiers, men and woman alike and their incredible families have made huge sacrifices, unlike anything I have ever seen in my life time. Truly, I pray we all pray for God to bless them all!

Kristen,

I drive by the Post Office several times a day. Perhaps today is the first day of the rest of my life to remember our soldiers and to ask God for HIS blessings upon them and their families. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be a spouse or a mother of a POW or MIA. It has to be heartbreaking. At the very least, I can keep them in my memory and not look a way but keep them pressed close to my heart in prayer with gratitude for their sacrifices. Keeping their memory alive is extremely important.

Thank you for your sharing your feelings too.
