Taking Your Realty Video Marketing Efforts to the Next Level

By
Real Estate Technology with Real Estate Technology and Marketing

Of course you provide your customers' listings with video tours. Of course you place those same videos on YouTube...

But are really using the power of videos to their true potential in your real estate business? Are you really?

Instead of the usual videos of a home's interior, use videos to market you, the real estate agent, as an expert in your field. Brand yourself as the go-to realty professional in your area.

How can you do this? Well, you're already offering useful information in articles, newsletters and blog posts on how to sell a home in a down market, how to give a home great curb appeal, how to figure out if you can really afford a home. etc. (aren't you?)

Why not videotape yourself giving such information? In addition to writing an article on home staging, for example, put together a two-minute video showing some home staging techniques. Or why not shoot a short video discussing your area's current real estate market, the state of repossessions, short sales, etc. (or on how the luxury housing market is starting to make a comeback)?

The point is to show yourself talking knowledgeably about all things real estate. From how to sell a house, whether one should sell or buy a house, to how to make your lawn look great from the street -- all showcase you as the real estate expert in your market.

Naturally, you'll want to be sure your Twitter and Facebook posts, your blog posts, etc. all have links to your videos. You'll want to be sure your videos also link back to your main real estate business website -- the uptick in traffic you'll see can be remarkable!

People today love to watch videos. We love it more than reading words on a page. Visitors to your site (or blog, Twitter of Facebook page) are far more likely to watch a video than read an article you've written. Conversion rates -- getting them to click through to your website -- also are much higher for video.

In addition, viewers of your videos will start feeling as if they know you. This is good, because they'll feel they have a relationship with you. They start feeling they can trust you. And the trusted Realtor is the Realtor with many listings.

Rob - Nice suggestion. Although I did not take advantage of an office promo our office has had, you know the office Coldwell Banker WLV, many had a 50-60 sec blip that goes out on the you tube channel of Coldwell Banker. It is real important and your post only drives it home.

Suggestion; If your nervous, get over it it is a sign of the times. Video, websites and syndication is the new way of business.

I like the idea of video marketing, I guess it is much like writing articles or blogger.
