This is "AFTER" the surgery:

This was "Before" the Listerectomy:

The question I have for you?  Is less really more?  What's your honest opinion?  Do you like clean and simple?  Do you believe there is more value to having every space on a site taken up with links, text, and images?  I know many will have different thoughts and opinions so I want to hear them?  Hearing your thoughts is important to me for many reasons, but more-so because I am building up my own personal site and I really value and respect all my readers and friends opinions here.  Well, most of them anyway.  lol~  So what say ye?

What do I think of the new look?  I asked you first?  I'll be right back...

Brad - I like the clean look ..... certainly less is more in most cases ..... one thing I am sure you are aware of is the number of clicks a person has to make to get the information they want (I understand the maximum is three or you lose them)

It certainly does look a lot less cluttered and I bet that will equal to people staying on the site longer.

The majority of people are going to Zillow to get their Zestimate.  This is easily achieved with the new homepage.  I like the cleaner simpler look.

Brad,

My internet connection is a little slow this evening due to some routine maintenance, so I was sitting here waiting for ALL the page to load and I was just staring blankly at the page, when I realized, it was loaded.

I like!!

Brad- sense I'm a big fan of the Peanut comic strip, I always opt for cleaner lines.  I find that websites with too much on them are kind of like a cluttered house. Your eyes are bouncing all over and never being able to focus on one thing.

Brad,

Actually I think it will be better.  We are bombarded so much nowadays and a focused approach would be welcome to some since they do not need all the chatter and links we get it everywhere else.

Brad, I definitely like the new look better. Honestly, when I got on Zillow's site I found it confusing - there were too many choices and I didn't know which one to click on first!

Tech savvy people may be able to deal with the previous incarnation, but the newer layout is much more managable for the avg internet idiot.  Most people are not as sophisticated and those that are must keep that in mind

Hi Brad,

The ads being gone are defintely a good thing.  I like the widgets though, because I may not have thought to look for the information contained there.

Brad, very nice face peel.  Cleaner and easier to read. I like the before and after shot for comparison.

Hi Bob,

I think that by making things cleaner and with more white space, it is easier to read and understand what you are viewing.

More white space definitely works and is easier on the eyes.

Interesting that they pulled all the advertising and options out of it.  Bottom line is people are looking at houses, and the rest is distraction.  When the page gets busy you don't know where to start, and veer off onto widget.  Good makeover.

So two of you have called me Bob on this post, now that's a first.  Once is almost expected, but twice?  lol~

Seriously, thank you guys for your opinions and comments.  We can all learn from your feedback and these responses.
In the fast paced busy world we live in today, making things simple and easy to use brings more value to your traffic than trying to cram everything into a single page.

I'm still working on my site and trying to apply this principle myself, just sometimes it's hard letting go. Thanks everyone.
