Your Agent Matters

With so many agents to choose from, let's take a brief look at some very important matters.

Ever visit a restaurant with so many items on the menu, so many items to choose from and you take a try at something, anything, just to order your meal?  Sometimes you like what you ordered and sometimes you didn't.  Sometimes you loved what you ordered, and you revisit the restaurant for more.

Now its time to order a real estate agent.  Here are some tips to increase your chances of loving what you order:

•1.)     Talk to more than one agent.  You are about to enter into a relationship.  It is important to talk with several good agents.

•2.)    Make sure the agents you talk with are REALTORS.  These agents are part of the largest, most respected and highest qualified organization available to home buyers and sellers.

•3.)    Talk and listen and learn.  Know your goal, communicate it to your REALTOR candidates and listen to their responsiveness.  You'll learn that the best agent for you is the one that hears and completely processes what you tell them.

•4.)    Give them a chance to earn your business.  See if what they do for you is timely, complete and accurate.   Are they accommodating and professional?  Do they teach you along the way?

•5.)    Look for industry knowledge, positive attitude, attention to detail, market familiarity, confidence, concern, punctuality, determination, appreciation and respect in your agent.  If you don't see these things...keep looking - for another agent!

Please share your thoughts, questions and concerns below.  THANKS!

Before you even schedule a face to face, just google the players. Study how they market, see the transparency that if you connect with, buyers will too. Videos, do they do real live videos on community and real estate? The copy...is it nice home, nice area, nice place to live blah blah boring? The sizzle and how far reaching the smell of the grilling steak, your property marketing is the guy you want to link up with. How he does it, not how good he is at getting in the front door and running out the back. Becoming a secret agent. List and run.

And make sure they are FULL-TIME REALTORS! I recently took an expired listing. The homeowner did not know until after signing the listing agreement, that the REALTOR was also a full-time school teacher!
