A Simple Tip to Avoid Being Hacked on Facebook!!!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Beasley Realty

I read this tip on one way to avoid having your facebook page hacked and wanted to share it with my Active Rain friends.  And I wanted to share it with my friends on facebook as well.

Look in your address bar.  If it says http://www.facebook.com you might want to consider making a change in your account settings.

First look in your upper right hand corner for Account.  Click Account Settings.

Then scroll down to change your security.  Click the first box.  I also have clicked the second box as well.  And of course click Save.  Everytime I log into my account I get an email.  For me that is a great way to keep an eye on things.

Now my address bar looks like this:

PS.  If you are using Internet Explore 7 or under it will disable chat.  You either need to upgrade your brower, or switch to Mozilla or Google Chrome which I prefer anyway.  This is super easy and only takes seconds to do.  Hope this helps!

Thanks much Lori. All done just like you said. See, I can follow simple instructions.

Still too much of a guy to ask for directions, though!

I had no idea and I just changed my settings before I even made a comment to your post. That was so easy and since even when I'm out of the office I will know within 15 minutes of someone being on my account without my permission.
