You Never Know WHO Is Reading Your Blog

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with McKinney Realty Group

You never know who is reading your blog....

I know we talk about this often but I don't think it hurts to be reminded!  At least for me, I sometimes forget that they are out there floating around for anyone and everyone to see.  You just never know what someone is searching for and then you land “smack” in their lap!
Working in bed
As you all know, I LOVE baseball and being at the ball field is the highlight of my day!  I have lived in this community for a very long time and I know a lot of people.  Our children have grown up together and we have been on the bleachers together for years....

Yesterday when I arrived at the ball field to watch my sons high school game I was greeting people as I passed to go take my seat and one of the Fathers that I have know for years said “I loved that blog you wrote about the boys.  It always takes me back a moment when those words are spoken... I said "wow, you saw that?" People ARE reading what we write! Sometimes I write something and think that no one is ever gonna read this...and then I hear something like that!

When I tell new people about Active Rain they always say the same thing “ I don't know what to write about” or “no one is going to want to read what I have to say”.  I said the SAME thing, but guess what if it interest you enough to write about it someone else is going to want to read about it!  Talk about the weather, your favorite places, a funny story about what happened that day... Just write something, then it will come so easy after a while.  People get to know YOU and the business, well, I believe it will just follow when you least expect it!

What do you have to lose? If you don't blog you will never know, but if you do...well you never know who might be reading!

Good morning Melissa, good reminder that people do like to see the human side of Realtors...not always just the buy and sell real estate sides.  Nice reminder.  Congratulations.

Good morning Melissa,

Isn't it wonderful when you hear comments like that? Yes many are out there reading what you write and it is helping them get to know you better as a person besides your job of being a Realtor. The same values shine through and consumers like to work with nice people! Great post!

Very well put Melissa! The law of averages is always at work. If we are constantly providing content, eventually it must be seen and read by someone.

I said the same thing in the beginning Melissa.  Who wants to hear what I have to say, and what do I really have to say!  The real trick is to get started.  Don't worry about it being perfect.  It will improve along the way!  :-)

Melissa ~ so true! I still feel that way at times, however, I keep moving forward & like Donna said, “don’t worry about being perfect, it will improve along the way.” (I still worry I’ll say something “wrong”)

Melissa, it always amazes me when I get a call asking for information about a local event that I might have blogged about.  You never know who will find you through one of your posts.

Melissa, you took me "right back" to the high school ball field bleachers.  So many memories! Two of my boys played varsity baseball. My oldest, Keith, in his Junior year, last inning, last up, hit a 3 base run to bring in 2 runs to win the NV State AA title in 1994.  What a memory!  Enjoy and good luck to the team. And yes, its amazing how blogging reaches the far corners.......thanks for sharing.

It's just magic, isn't it?  I had a neighbor ask me if I owned a local restaurant because when she goggled it to get more info on it, a couple of blog posts came up.  LOL

I agree with you Melissa. You never know who is reading, or where it will pop. Although I think some bloggers forget and will say things that should probably be for member only. Although I think your blogs are always quite interesting and never negative.
