So should you buy or wait?  Should you put your monies in the stock market, savings account or a starter home or trade up to a larger home?

First and foremost - You are buying a home and not an investment.  This is your home - where you build memories with your family, where you entertain and have friends and family over.  Many people have moved away from looking at our homes as a place to build memories, provide a safe place for ourselves, provide a roof over our heads, buy into the American dream of owning a home but instead looked at it as a piece of commodity to trade.

It is your HOME!

Personally I bought a little larger home in 2007.  I wanted a larger home as my kids were starting to go outside more and play.  I wanted to put a swingset in the backyard so I needed a larger backyard, I hoped for a 2-car garage, central AC, and 2 bathrooms.  I looked at my purchase as buying my 30-year home - not as a piece of stock to trade and make money.  Because I have been buying and selling homes since I was  21 and had relocated 4 times with IBM.

I always knew from my experience when I moved to a new town whether it was Dallas, Atlanta,  Bethesda, or Wellesley I wanted a home to come home to.

But for those who want it to be a GOOD INVESTMENT - Look at the chart below.  Looks like you can have it all - Memories and a good investment!
