Hibiscus a great eye catcher for home sales.

Nothing seems to attract more attention in a Houston Texas garden than the presence of blooming hibiscus plants. If one of your homes landscaping needs a spruce up or a pleasant distraction adding a few Hibiscus plants is a great idea. They are not exspensive, as a general rule, and add great color and height to any garden. And of course they love the summer heat in Texas, something that can't be said for every plant around!

Shellee, what a gorgeous picture!  I have a hibiscus plant just as you walk in our front door.  It use to be a red plant then I planted a peach color.  When it was red I would constantly get compliments on it but nobody noticed the peach.  My husband thought I was nuts when I dug up the perfectly good peach plant and put in the red one last spring but what a difference the color makes.  I did transplant the peach one to a different spot in the yard.

Thanks Marchel. and yes I know what you mean about the color. The peach and other duller color variety just do not attract the awe and respect that the vibrant reds and yellows. Another favorite of mine is the Variegated Hibiscus. The red blooms are smaller and less abundant but the beautiful leaf colors are impressive. They also seem to grow more rapidly than a regular hibiscus! It would be one to try if you are a Hibiscus lover.

Shellee, I am a hibiscus lover and your photograph is beautiful.  I have a hibiscus tree in the back yard in a large planter as i haven't decided where to plant it.  I have several hibiscus plants in the front yard.  I too love the deeper colors- but that yellow one in the photograph is so pretty.

Hibiscus!  That's what those things are called!  They grow like crazy over here in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

Hibiscus (new word) a little out of focus

Robert- Thats definately a hibiscus and a very vibrant red too! A suggestion from a photographer, because you know I cant resist, use a Micro lens or back off the image a bit- this will take the blurriness away! And yea I bet they love the warm climate in Florida. Plant More!
